Frequently asked questions

What is UK Haulage Network?

UK Haulage Network is a trading name of Leadhub Group Ltd. We are a dispatch and load-finding service. Our team looks for suitable loads for owner-drivers and haulage companies, and sends you the opportunities.

Do you own the trucks?

No. Every vehicle belongs to, and is run by, the haulier.

Do you employ drivers?

No. Drivers are employed or engaged by the haulier, not by UKHN.

How does UKHN make money?

We charge a commission on jobs you choose to accept. There is no charge for registering.

How much commission do you charge?

Our standard commission is 10% of the agreed job price. The exact amount is shown on each job before you accept it.

When is the 10% commission charged?

Only when you press “Accept job”. It is taken from the payment card you saved when you set up your account.

Am I charged if I decline a job?

No. Declining a job costs nothing.

Do I have to accept every job?

No. You choose which jobs to accept.

How do I tell you where my truck is?

Sign in to your portal, open your truck and update its location. You can do this from your phone.

What is the weekly route planner?

It's where you enter your planned trips for the week: where you're going, when, and where you'll finish.

What does “EMPTY” mean?

Where and when your truck will be empty and ready for its next load. For example: Birmingham B1, Monday 14:30.

What does “WHAT WE NEED” mean?

Where you'd like your next load to take you. For example: Cardiff.

Can I specify where I want my next load to go?

Yes. Enter a preferred destination on each planned trip.

Can I give alternative destinations?

Yes. For example: South Wales or Bristol.

What if I am flexible?

Choose “Flexible” or “Anywhere”, and set the maximum number of empty miles you're willing to drive to a collection.

Do you find return/backloads?

Yes. When you tell us where you'll be empty, our dispatch team searches for loads heading where you want to go.

How are jobs sent to me?

Job opportunities appear in your portal. We plan to add email and SMS notifications later.

What happens after I accept a job?

Your card is charged the commission. Once the payment goes through, the job is booked and you can see the collection and delivery details.

How does payment work?

You save a card once, securely with Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

What happens if payment fails?

The job is not booked and is put on hold. You'll be asked to update your card or confirm the payment with your bank.

What happens if a job is cancelled?

Cancellations are handled under our Terms & Conditions, which are currently being reviewed by a solicitor. Contact the dispatch team if a job is cancelled.

What happens if there is a dispute?

Contact the dispatch team. Our dispute and resolution process will be set out in our Terms & Conditions.

What compliance documents do I need?

Usually an operator licence (where legally required), commercial motor insurance, Goods in Transit insurance and a driving licence. You upload them in your portal.

Do I need my own operator licence where legally required?

Yes. Hauliers are responsible for holding any licences the law requires.

Do I need my own insurance?

Yes. Hauliers must hold their own suitable insurance.

Does UKHN own or operate the vehicle?
